Humor is essential to life. One has to laugh at things when they get too bad and in Ecuador things more often than not do not turn out as expected. So there is plenty of opportunity for a good laugh.

Now, believe it or not this humor section contains a message which I would like to sum up this way: whatever happens to you (except death maybe?), there is always a different way to look at it, a better way, a way that will teach you something. Humor often brings salvation in the most miserable moments.

Near Zamora I was invited once to try a frog. It is delicious according to the locals. So, we went to the frog farm, a big place with thousands of frogs that they export to France for the "froggies". One has to carry his own to the restaurant which prepares them and is located a few hundred meters from the farm. So there I go, walking with my almuerzo in hand. I must say that it was actually quite a good meal.
